Dr. Bhatt has also published many peer-reviewed scientific papers in the field of cataract and glaucoma surgery and served as a member of the American Glaucoma Societys Patient Care Committee.Dr. Bhatt graduated as valedictorian of his International Baccalaureate High School in Palm Harbor, FL, and was then admitted into a direct 6-year BS/MD program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During his time in medical school, he discovered his passion to save and restore vision, so he pursued a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. While in residency he was amongst the first surgeons in the U.S. to use astigmatic and multifocal lenses for vision correction with cataract surgery.Dr. Bhatt subsequently completed a fellowship in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma at UC Irvine. After his fellowship training, he was recruited to remain on faculty at UC Irvine where he helped to preserve and restore vision in some of the most difficult surgical cataract and glaucoma cases and gained extensive experience in all varieties of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.Dr. Bhatt treats each individual with the same care as he would want to be provided to his own family.
