History
I started building furniture here in Los Angeles in 1998. However, I have been building things out of wood my whole life. Both my parents are artistic and brilliant. My father Norman comes from Finland which maybe where the gene for woodworking comes from. When I moved to LA in 1996 I met Sam Kauffman and was introduced to modernism. Again the Finish gene kicked in and I understood exactly what it was about. Since then, we have grown from just me whacking away to a proper small business. We build restaurants, bars, store fixtures, kitchens, closets, entertainment centres, and just about anything else that can be made from wood. During this time we have been developing a line in our own style that we are getting ready to introduce. Get ready for super cool, super chic, funky moderne furnishings for your home.
Specialties
We build simple, functional, undecorated furniture that will enhance the lives of people who have it. My organic process of designing and building results in a piece with amazing positive energy and the sense that it is what it looks like it is, that it is what it claims to be and is happy being just that. The furniture is undecorated to show the design and functionality clearly. There is nothing to hide the beauty, which is found in the simple functional design. When people have a few quality pieces in their home it transcends up into their lives, which become simple, organic and beautiful.
