History
We opened for business in 1973 as the first federally-chartered savings institution focused primarily on serving the financial needs of Chinese-Americans in Los Angeles. Over the years, this market has grown and flourished, and East West Bank has grown and flourished right along with it. Today, we have grown to a full-service commercial bank with over 130 locations in key cities in the U.S. and Greater China. As one of the only banks to focus primarily on the U.S. and Greater China markets, we continue to expand our extensive global network of contacts and resources to better meet our customers' diverse financial needs in and between the world's two largest markets.
