History
I began practicing Chinese Medicine as a patient, when I was a grad student at UCSD. My acupuncturist at the time, Rick Gold, told me that I should become an acupuncturist and, 6 years later, I did! . in 2011 I began working as a licensed massage therapist at Pacific Center of Health and the Healing Point and continued as such until I got my license and moved to Kensington in 2014. In 2017 I moved to Pennsylvania and in 2019 I moved back to San Diego. . Chinese Medicine is a profession which requires lifelong learning. I began as a massage therapist which led me to Thai Massage which led me to Visceral Manipulation and Craniosacral Therapy. . I started studying Taoism and Taiji at the Taoist Sanctuary of San Diego in 2012. In 2015 I began the diploma course in dermatology and auto-immune disorders with Mazin Al-Khafaji. Currently I am completing a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at ACTCM/CIIS in San Francisco.
Specialties
I specialize in stress relief - put simply - because it is through relaxation and feeling comfortable that your body is able to heal itself. Of course I treat pain - which is the most common reason that people seek acupuncture as an adjunctive therapy or alternative to taking pharmaceutical medication - but physical pain is usually where things begin. Other than stress relief and pain, Chinese Medical practitioners (myself included) treat digestive disorders through acupuncture, nutritional advice, and the prescription of Chinese herbal therapies, most of which are customized to the individual. I have completed four years of additional (and on-going) training in Chinese Dermatology and auto-immune disorders and can help people with their skin issues though dietary modification, UV laser therapy, and both topical and internal Chinese Herbal remedies. I carry a variety of products to apply to problematic skin. I also have a wide network of referrals in case your needs would be best suited by someone in addition or instead of me.
