Palisades Elementary Charter School is an affiliated charter school within the Los Angeles Unified School District. Along with standard subjects, the school offers the Children's Music Workshop program, giving students musical instrument instruction from professional music teachers. Some students from the program get the chance to perform at the All Schools Honor Orchestra at UCLA. The Palisades Enrichment Program at the school raises funds to support the computer lab, music program, yard supervision, science fair, art instruction, the Discovery Garden, drama, environmental lessons and physical education. The school uses the Tribes program as a process of learning that promotes healthy growth of students. Community service is also an important part of the Palisades Elementary curriculum, encouraging students to learn social responsibility. After school, students can participate in the STAR enrichment program, which provides additional instruction and activities in specialized subjects and gives children time for homework.
