The Procurement Division is a part of the Department of General Services, which is governed by the State of California. The division grants purchasing authorities to state departments to purchase goods valued over $100. It allows various departments to buy commodities directly from suppliers through contracts and agreements. The Procurement Division offers multistate cooperative agreements for the purchase of goods and services related to the information and technology and telecommunications industries. In addition, the division operates an online state contracting and procurement registration system. It provides certification programs for small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and woman- and veteran-owned enterprises. The Procurement Division s technology acquisitions section provides assistance with the procurement of large, complex information technology acquisitions.
