HistoryThe California Family Counseling Center (CalFam) was founded in 1971 by Clinton E. Phillips, PhD and T. David Jansen, DMin. CalFam Counseling was a part of Phillips Graduate University, a nonprofit educational, counseling, training and research center until April 2019. On May 1, 2019, CalFam began operation as part of the Los Angeles Education Center of Campbellsville University, where the Phillips Graduate Institute's Master of Marriage and Family Therapy program is offered. This continues the legacy of Phillips and the outstanding MFT curriculum.SpecialtiesWelcome to California Family Counseling (CalFam), a counseling center operated by Campbellsville University in Chatsworth, California. We are a nonprofit community mental health center and training facility for marriage and family therapists. To serve the diversity of our community, we provide a variety of sliding-scale mental health services including individual, couple, family, child/adolescent, LGBTQIAQ, and group therapy.
