History
With a nod to the nostalgia of MGM's grand musicals and Hollywood's silver screen sirens, Colette Brandenburg and Shannon Zimmerman co-founded the LA Follies in 2012. Fond of the past and present films, like Busby Berkeley's dizzyingly wonderful Gold Diggers of 1935 to Funny Girl's comedic take on Ziegfeld Follies to opening tap sequence of The Temple of Doom, they wanted to create a company that captures this moment in time and shares it with today. The LA Follies grew into a company that infuses a dash of inspiration from the grandeur of the Hollywood heyday mixed with a bit of pop spectacle prevalent in the Los Angeles theatrical scene. Specializing in site specific and immersive events, the LA Follies dancers bring the dream of Hollywood to life.
