HistoryRebecca Wallace-Segall founded Writopia Lab in New York City in 2007 with the mission of inspiring joy, literacy, and critical thinking in kids and teens from all backgrounds through creative writing. Writopia has experienced a beautiful ten years of helping young people find their voices, turn pain to power, transform their ideas into accomplishments, and achieve their award-winning potential regardless of their economic status. Our Los Angeles region opened in 2012.SpecialtiesOur age-based creative writing and expository writing workshops give young writers the opportunity to work on their own pieces alongside three to six peers. All workshops are guided by published authors or produced playwrights who are thoroughly versed in Writopia's student-centric methodology.
