History
NextSpace Berkeley opened in June 2013 in the historic Wells Fargo Bank Annex and former lobby and vault. The old vault fortress was converted into a conference room. After witnessing the success of co-working in the pioneer Santa Cruz location, started in 2008, where a workspace combined community with hospitality. The concept of co-working success spread to Los Angeles (Culver City location) in May 2011 and San Jose the next month in June 2011. Gathering momentum, NextSpace opened locations at Union Square in San Francisco in July 2012, and in southern California - Venice Beach in September 2012. Finally, Berkeley NextSpace was launched in June 2013.
