History
The conception of Peking Tavern dates back to early 1990's as two Chinese American architects practicing in Asia frequented Beijing to enjoy the local food and spirits as well as the art and architecture. Rock'n roll and jazz were considered subversive by the government and and the bar scene was underground. It was also a time when mom-n-pop restaurants ruled and ancient culinary traditions revitalized. Understanding the significance of this transitional period, the two Andrews vowed to bring their amazing experience back to America some day. It eventually became Peking Tavern.
