History
Xinhua Bookstore is the largest bookstore chain in China. The San Diego branch is one of two locations in the United States, serving California and the West Coast. Opened in 2006 in recognition of the needs of readers within the local Chinese community, what started out as a books-and-media bookstore has evolved over the years in response to a growing interest in Chinese culture. We have since expanded into a place for people of all backgrounds to participate in learning about Chinese culture in more active ways -- in addition to our products, some of our current offerings include calligraphy classes and traditional art discussion groups, a Chinese-language book club, and a weekly Go study club.
Specialties
Since 2006, Xinhua Bookstore has served the greater San Diego community in providing access to Chinese culture through books, media, gifts, food items, and events.
