HistoryThe instructors and families of SwimSCAAPE started working together in 2007, as part of a larger organization. SwimSCAAPE became its own entity in 2013. Over time, we have refined our techniques to continue to lead the way in specializing to teach and support swimmers with Special Needs, though we also serve swimmers without at some locations. We have two certifications and continuing education for our practitioners, and we put a premium on making learning fun. Come swim with us!SpecialtiesSwimSCAAPE practitioners are certified in adaptive swim teaching and support, and are specialized in working with students with special sensory processing, cognitive, and behavioral needs. SwimSCAAPE practitioners are also trained in effectively instructing students with any physical or mobility related challenges. Our instruction methods are designed to increase self-awareness, and learn skills ranging from basic water safety to advanced stroke technique. We like to say that SwimSCAAPE turns the pool into a sensory and movement learning playground!
