Torrington High School is a four-year comprehensive high school offering business, technology and work-study programs. With a student enrollment of more than 1,300, it offers classes in grades nine through 12. It offers an academic program that is designed for students who intend to continue their formal education beyond high school and the curriculum includes English, mathematics, social science, literature, science, biology, chemistry, health and physical education, fine arts and applied education. The school provides career and technical education programs that prepare students for careers by teaching core technical proficiencies and employability skills. It offers extracurricular activities, such as after school enrichment classes, yearbook, journalism, vocal and instrumental music, drama and media and an extensive summer school program. It is one of the schools governed by the Torrington Public Schools.
