The National Black Women's Health Project, Inc, based in Washington, DC, is the first and only national non-profit organization dedicated to achieving health equity for Black women globally. Founded in 1983 by Byllye Y. Avery, the organization leads health policy, education, research, and communications to improve the health outcomes of Black women through evidence-based strategies and bold new programs.
