Deerlake Middle School provides education to grades six through eight. The school has various departments, including administration, agriculture, allied arts, language arts, mathematics, physical education, science, social studies and technology. It also offers foreign language classes in French and Spanish. The school organizes several performing arts classes in chorus, drama, band, strings and orchestra. The music department provides various extracurricular activities that include jazz band, chamber ensembles and symphony orchestra. Its graphic and visual art department offers several projects, including drawing, print-making, ceramics, fibers, sculpture, drafting, layout and typography.
