Myrtle Oaks Apartments is a HUD (housing and urban development) assisted living facility for low-income elderly 62 years and older. Currently, all of the 99 aprtments are occupied and the apartment complex works off of a waiting list. Myrtle Oaks Apartments has a great reputation in the Tampa Bay area as being one of the nicer HUD facilities. Myrtle Oaks Apartments prides itself in being in the business of enabling the elderly to live independently. The facility has a community room and daily game nights in which the residents participate. It also provides its residents with bus rides to shopping malls and drug stores twice per week. Myrtle Oaks Apartments also tries to accommodate the residents' wishes to the best of its abilities as it takes them on neighborhood trips as well.
