City of Orlando Permitting Services Division, governed by the city s Economic Development Department, is responsible for coordinating plans review for construction, renovations, alterations and development. Some of the services provided by the division include preapplication meetings, plans submittal assistance, development and plans review, variance procedures, inspection services, certificates of occupancy and business licensing. Located in Orlando, Fla., the division maintains complete and accurate files of all building permits and other related information as required by state statutes. It participates on behalf of public works, city planning, transportation and fire departments as members of the Technical Review Committee by producing feasibility reports, attending TRC and municipal planning board meetings. It also inspects all construction for compliance with applicable building and related codes as adopted by Orlando City Council.
