Dr. Mahootchi is a board certified ophthalmologist with over 22 years of surgical and laser experience. He trained at Vanderbilt University and is a native of Tennessee. The highly trained staff are all career professionals. From basic eye care to complicated eye surgery, the clinic provides expert care in the area's most modern eye clinic. Many eye conditions are treated including cataract, diabetes, allergies, macular degeneration and glaucoma. Dr. Mahootchi has performed performed LASIK for over 20 years. He was the area's first Crystalens surgeon to receive certification from Eyeonics (now Bausch and Lomb). He is one of the most experienced cataract surgeons using lens implants that correct astigmatism. He's done hundreds more that any local eye surgeon. Dr. Mahootchi is also a very experienced eyelid surgeon with over 23 years experience. He performs Cosmetic, Reconstructive and Functional Lid Surgeries.Three major types of ophthalmic lasers are located on-site or in the nearby Same Day Surgery Center. Dr. Mahootchi is diabetic himself and understands the importance of preventing diabetic retinopathy. Macular Degeneration and other macular disease are also treated at the office.
