Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, founded in 1995 by Central Atlanta Progress, is a public and private partnership that is funded through a community improvement district. Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, based in Atlanta, works with the Central Atlanta Progress for downtown and its property owners, employees, residents, students and visitors. The corporation has various programs for economic development, physical environment and marketing of downtown. Its programs include Gateway Center, Downtown Office Coalition, Andrew Young International Design competition and downtown and midtown signage project. The corporation has various other projects such as Peachtree Neighborhood pedestrian crossings improvement, downtown livability code, tax allocation district, community workshop, multimodal passenger terminal and the Atlanta community court. It also provides various transportation facilities for organizations, such as commuter incentives and public education and increases transportation alternatives, improves infrastructure and represents members concerns at local, regional and statewide planning levels.
