Sweetwater Valley Library is situated in the historic City of Austell Threadmill Complex in Austell, GA, offering a cozy neighborhood library experience. Established in 1913, the Austell Woman’s Club initiated a circulating library, later moving into a log cabin headquarters. Eventually, the library transitioned to a store front in 1950, before joining the Cobb Marietta Library System in 1966.
The branch underwent renovations and expansions over the years, receiving a facelift in 1997 with new carpet, shelves, and paint. In 2001, the library found its current home in the renovated three-story Coats and Clark Thread Mill, where it continues to serve the community with a collection of 14 ukuleles for checkout and free lessons by the West Georgia Ukulele Ensemble.
With a rich history and commitment to community service, Sweetwater Valley Library remains a cherished resource, offering a range of programs, events, and services that cater to the diverse needs of its patrons.
