Risk Management Services, also known as RMS, provides insurance coverage, manages and administers claims, identifies loss exposures and promotes loss control for the state agencies of Georgia. Located in Atlanta, it administers the Auto Liability Program, which provides liability coverage for injuries and damages caused by state employees and other covered persons while performing their official duties. Risk Management Services offers an unemployment program that assists state entities in the administration of unemployment claims. It also provides a property insurance program that includes the insurance of state-owned property, including office equipment, motor vehicles and aircraft against various hazards. Risk Management Services is a part of the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS), which is Georgia state government's business solutions provider and also offers purchasing, fleet management and document services.
