Mr. Majer was a rough and finish carpenter and built houses in and around Skokie in the 1950's. He got into remodeling and building garages in the 1960's. After having enough of working with other trades, and spending days on one job, Mr. Majer started concentrating on glass and windows.Glass replacement and window installation is known and practiced throughout the industry. Mr. Majer developed methods for repairing glass sliding doors thus developing a strong business across the Chicagoland area . Certain methods for repairing patio doors only known to Glenbrook Patio Door that have restored and preserved doors for years thus saving customers the expense of complete replacement. Today, the newer generation at Glenbrook Patio Door continues to successfully implement the ideas from Mr. Majer that have stood up to the test of time, for thousands of satisfied customers.
