Founded in 1984, JMIS quickly made a name for itself as a distribution center that focused on efficiency and quality distribution. In 1999, the current president and majority owner Ronald Givens assumed control of the company. JMIS maintains an ISO 9001: 2000 certificate initially granted in 2004, which is a testament to JMIS's commitment to quality. Granted an 8 ( a ) designation by the Small Business Administration ( SBA ) in 2007, and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise ( DBE ) certification by the Illinois Unified Certification Program ( IL UCP ) in 2008, JMIS is currently venturing into new areas of industrial supply, as well as construction opportunities and continued involvement with government contracts.
