NMUA, also known as Northwest Metropolitan Urology Associates, is an independent, privately owned and operated company. The center offers treatment for cancer in bladders and kidney, prostatic diseases and urinary infections. Northwest Metropolitan Urology Associates provides adult and pediatric urologic surgery services. It has a team of physician assistants who conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, interpret tests, counsel patients and offer assistance in surgery. The center administers a physician assistant residency program that provides training to certified physician assistants. Northwest Metropolitan Urology Associates offers opportunities participate in daily teaching rounds, weekly conferences and monthly research meetings. It is a member of the National Association of Postgraduate Physician Assistant Programs. The center maintains one of its locations in Niles, Ill.
