Skokie Public Works Department, located in Skokie, Ill., is one of the largest departments of the city and serves residents through various divisions. The department is comprised of a team of technical and administrative personnel responsible for activities, such as engineering, flood control, snow and ice control, leaf pick up, street sweeping, solid waste and recycling management, sidewalk replacement, water and sewer maintenance, and tree maintenance. The department has been awarded full accreditation by the American Public Works Association. Skokie Public Works Department has accredited police, fire, and public works departments.
