A single acre of triangular green park surrounds Western Springs' historic downtown water tower. The stone and brick tower was built in 1892 and was the source of water for the village for many years. It was also once home to the village's administrative offices, but it now houses the Western Springs Historical Society. In the park, there is a network of paths and several benches, leading to the Western Springs Metra station. This is a good place to bring an outdoor lunch and people watch.
