Founded in 1967, WICD-TV is an affiliate of American Broadcasting Company. It provides local and national programming to the community of Champaign, Ill., and surrounding areas. The station is a subsidiary of Sinclair Communications. Sinclair Communications is the operating arm of Sinclair Broadcast Group s broadcasting operations. Founded in 1986, Sinclair Broadcast Group is a diversified television broadcasting company that owns, programs and provides sales services to more than 55 television stations in 30-plus markets. Its stations include affiliates of American Broadcasting Company, National Broadcasting Company, Columbia Broadcasting Company, Fox, The WB Television Network and United Paramount Network.
