Family & Youth Services Bureau is a private, nonprofit agency that is governed by a board of directors. It provides long-term and temporary residential treatment programs for adolescents who are unable to function in their homes, schools and communities, as well as individuals awaiting juvenile court intervention. The agency offers juvenile justice, risk management and community transition services. It offers a Saturday detention program that helps juvenile court hold young offenders who have violated probation. The agency offers a school-like day treatment program that provides academic opportunities for students in grades six through nine who have had difficulty in adjusting to the behavioral requirements in their public school settings.
