The Sewer Department is a part of the Engineering Department, which is responsible for sidewalk, street and sign design and upkeep services. The Sewer Department handles sewer and sanitary and storm water concerns. It is also responsible for traffic engineering and issuing right-of-way permits. The department works under the government of The City of Anderson, Ind. The City of Anderson also maintains an air management department that regulates air quality issues and is responsible for asbestos removal. It additionally has fire, police, parks and recreation, public and media relations, and human resource and insurance departments.
