Galesburg Police Department is based on the concept that professional public service must come from individuals who are committed to strive for achievement of excellence. The department s field operations division consists of nearly 50 persons, including the division Commander, lieutenants, sergeants, patrol officers and a team of investigators. The staff and services division consists of more than 20 non-sworn personnel and sworn officers. The division s primary role is one of support for all agencies that are members of the Galesburg County, Ill. Duties of the division encompasses personnel training, evidence and property retention, building maintenance and the operation of a 24-hour communications and records section.
