History
The law firm of King & Schickli, PLLC was founded by J. Ralph King in 1982. Located in Lexington, Kentucky, it is the largest intellectual property law firm in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Attorneys with the firm specialize in all phases of intellectual property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition, trade secrets, computer law, and other matters involving science and technology on behalf of clients throughout the United States and the world. Attorneys in the firm are registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and have formal education and training in all of the major areas of technology including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, organic and inorganic chemistry and biotechnology. Some of the attorneys have previously worked at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as patent examiners or in industry, providing valuable experience in understanding patents from both the prosecution and the business side.
