The Columbia Union Conference is the coordinating body for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Mid-Atlantic United States. With 150,000 members worshiping in 860 congregations, they provide administrative support to eight conferences, two healthcare networks, 81 schools, a liberal arts university, a health sciences college, community service centers, camps, book and health food stores, and a radio station.
Their mission is to empower, equip, and engage their members through training events, equipping pastors, and supporting local conferences in their public evangelism efforts. They believe in the power and mystery of God, reaching out to people and providing a bridge from the past to the future through the Bible. They also offer educational programs, such as the newly added Master of Science in Nursing track at Kettering College, to prepare nurses for leadership roles in the healthcare industry.
