Association of Public Health Laboratories is a nonprofit organization that has been operational for more than 50 years. The organization conducts research on the status of public health laboratories. Additionally, it provides information on public health laboratories and issues, such as infectious disease, emergency preparedness, environmental health and newborn screening to policy makers, media, health organizations and government agencies. Its offers membership to state and local public health laboratories, environmental laboratories and others that conducts testing of public health significance. In addition, individuals and international representatives are also members of the organization. Association of Public Health Laboratories is located in Silver Spring, Md.
