Founded in 1976, Communities for People offers customized programs and services for children. The agency provides services related to foster care, adoption support, refugee resettlement and rehabilitation. Its therapeutic foster care program serves children who have been removed from their families due to severe neglect, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, and exposure to drugs and alcohol. In addition, Communities for People provides training in essential independent living skills, such as managing money, finding employment, and cooperating and compromising with roommates.
