The Winchester Special Education Parent Advisory Council is an advisory group that provides input to the school committee, as well as information and support to parents and guardians about the special education processes and programs offered to children. The council offers workshops and guest speakers to help members in receiving information on special education issues. It advises the school district on issues related to the education, health and safety of students with disabilities. The council also encourages schools and local officials to participate in the planning, development and evaluation of special education programs. Its staff includes occupational and physical therapists, reading specialists, teachers and guidance counselors.
