The 2030 Districts Network is a global network dedicated to establishing thriving high-performance building districts and cities, bringing together property owners, local governments, businesses, and community stakeholders to reduce the environmental impact of building construction and operations. With 24 established districts nationwide and over 1,650 organizational members, they have committed more than 620 million square feet of commercial building space to address climate change.
2030 Districts are private-public partnerships that aim to achieve significant energy, water, and emissions reductions within commercial cores. Led by the private sector and supported by local building industry leaders, these districts work in collaboration with local community groups and government to meet the incremental reduction targets set by the 2030 Challenge for Planning. Through leveraging strategic partnerships, providing guidance, training, and collective buying power, the 2030 Districts Network is at the forefront of urban sustainability and the transition to a low carbon economy.
