Burton Orofacial Myology, LLC opened its doors at the Liberty School Building in Saline on October 3, 2011.
Specialties
The scope of my practice has been outlined by the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) to include the following disorders and habits: * Abnormal non-nutritive sucking habits (thumb finger, pacifier, etc.) * Other detrimental orofacial habits (nail, hair, lip, cheek biting) * Abnormal orofacial rest posture problems * Abnormal swallowing patterns (thrusting of tongue upon swallowing) * Abnormal functional breathing patterns (after causes of mouth breathing have been addressed) * Abnormal neuromuscular muscle patterns associated with inappropriate mastication, bolus formation and deglutition (drinking and swallowing of food and liquids).
