John Ervin opened his first foundry in 1920. Ervin Industries provides manufacturing, technical development and sales of cast steel abrasives. The company s operations include Amasteel, which manufactures cast steel shot and grit abrasives, and Amacast, which manufacturers stainless steel shot abrasives. Ervin Industries also manufacturers steel shot for shotgun shells. Ervin s product development center is the core of the company s research and development efforts and has been expanded to include the production of specialty products. The technology developed at the center is used to produce super alloys for use in aerospace and commercial applications. Ervin Industries is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich.
