Created in 1941, Legislative Service Bureau is a nonpartisan, legislative information and service agency of the Michigan Legislative Council in the state of Michigan. The bureau provides bill drafting through legal division; research functions through research service division; a variety of printing services from legislative printing division; and telephone support for the legislature, as well as computer support for the bureau and legislative council agencies through information technologies division. In addition, the bureau compiles and publishes Michigan's laws, manual booklets, brochures and newsletters that are distributed through legislative offices. The Michigan Legislative Council is a bipartisan, bicameral body of legislators that are established in Article IV, Section 15 of the Constitution of Michigan.
