HistoryThomas started as an intern for a local Merrill Lynch office. Thomas soon ran the internship program and, Jason Conrad Huntley worked as one of his first interns. Thomas left Merrill Lynch hoping to find a company that would encourage financial planning with a variety of financial products. He found an insurance company with an upstart brokerage company called John Hancock. He encouraged Jason to come on board as well. Soon the two were working together again, but there was still something missing. Jason wasn't comfortable working for a large corporation and wanted freedom to do what was right for his clients. It was then the two found out about Independent Broker Dealers. It had all the compliance for federal law, while putting the client first by not having loyalty to any one financial company.
