Lakewinds Natural Foods, based in Minnetonka, Minn., is a full-service, natural foods cooperative grocery store that serves the western suburbs of Minneapolis. Lakewinds is a past recipient of the Retailer of the Year award from the Consumer Cooperative Managers Association. In 1995, Lakewinds moved to its present corner location. In 1998, the company added Lakewinds Natural Home to provide customers with safe and natural cleaners and paint choices, as well as organic clothing, artisan-crafted jewelry and fair trade gifts. Lakewinds Natural Foods has a selection of breads, bulk, foods, spices and coffee, cheese, frozen foods, meat and seafood. The grocery store has a deli, natural home section and large produce department that features organic fruits and vegetables.
