Klas Field, located in St. Paul, MN, is a state-of-the-art multi-use facility that serves as the home for Hamline University's football, lacrosse, and track and field teams. Completed in 2004 at a cost of $7.1 million, the four-level center offers an improved athletic stadium, as well as learning, gathering, and meeting spaces. With its glass facade facing Old Main, the 27,000 square-foot Klas Center features a large gathering area, a caf offering coffee and light meals, flexible classroom and meeting space, a banquet hall with a capacity of 500 people, and locker rooms for Hamline athletes.
The Klas Center was made possible by the generous donation of $7 million from chief donors Robert and Alexandra Klas, the largest single donation in Hamline University's 150-year history. Robert, a Hamline graduate and Chairman/CEO of Tapemark Company, along with other donors, raised the remaining $1.1 million. The stadium, which can accommodate approximately 2,000 spectators, boasts a field turf that was replaced in 2017. With its modern amenities and beautiful design, Klas Field stands as a testament to the university's commitment to providing top-notch athletic facilities for its student-athletes and the community.
