Established in 1990, Alta Vista Charter High School provides a range of educational programs to more than 150 students in grades 9 through 12. It offers classes in reading, writing, speaking, English, math and science. The school operates a counseling department that offers information on scholarship opportunities, graduation requirements and career planning. It provides professional learning, post-secondary education and training services for students with learning disabilities. The school additionally offers vocational support, emergency assistance, and behavior and anger management services. It is funded by the University of Central Missouri. The school is a part of Guadalupe Centers, which provides a variety of childhood, secondary and adult education programs for students. Alta Vista Charter High School is located in Kansas City, Mo.
