Built in 1959, Pennington Elementary is spread over an area of more than 42,000 square feet. It enrolls students in kindergarten through grade four. The school provides to an elementary-level educational foundation to over 300 students. It operates a parent-teacher organization and organizes science and book fairs. Pennington Elementary maintains a chess club and computer laboratory. It also provides after-school tutoring classes. It offers closed circuit televisions. The school has partnerships with the YMCA Fun Company, FLIP tutors, Pennington Paw Volunteers and Nashville Alignment School. Located in Nashville, Tenn., Pennington Elementary is operated by Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, which operates nearly 130 schools.
