Founded in 1960, Lewis and Clark Middle School is located in Omaha, Neb. The school serves more than 600 students in grades seven and eight. Its curriculum includes math, science, social studies and language arts. It offers the English as a Second Language program. Lewis and Clark Middle School s range of extracurricular activities includes art, music, family and consumer science lessons , and physical and computer education. The school also offers French as a foreign language. It supports a variety of sports activities, such as football, basketball, soccer, volleyball and cross country. In addition, it operates book, chess and skateboard clubs. The school also has a parent-teacher organization that conducts fundraising activities, including dance shows and holiday parties. Its staff includes a custodian, psychologist, interpreter, and speech and language pathologist. The school provides special education to students with learning disabilities.
