History
Katie Shea, Owner and Director of Star Arts Productions, has over 17 years experience in teaching in the fine arts. She first developed this successful Creative Arts Program as member of the youth theatre staff at the Theatre Cedar Rapids in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She brought this program to Las Vegas in 2003 and enjoyed may years as an instructor and summer camp director for the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre. She established Star Arts Productions in 2009, with a hope to give children in Las Vegas a creative way to shine, and build self-confidence through a well-rounded exposure to the fine arts!
Specialties
We offer creative arts camps, classes, workshops, and special events for the youth of Las Vegas. Our programs are offered for ages 3-12, and combine lessons in acting, dancing, singing, and visual arts. Each session ends with a performance of an original production in which all the students get their chance to shine. Students will learn three dances, one musical theatre number, create all set pieces, costumes, and props for the performance, and students who can read will be assigned lines. Our programs aim to help children develop self-confidence, rhythm, coordination, balance, and social skills, while improving their appreciation of the fine arts. The staff has more than 15 years of experience in teaching the performing arts, and parents rave about the well-run, inspiring classes that instill a sense of accomplishment in kids-- not to mention adorable memories that will light up your family scrapbook.
