Barbara Newman Mannix launched A Dignified Life LLC after her own experience dealing with her husband's terminal cancer diagnosis in 2006. Mannix, who has a background as a paralegal and in research, approached her husband's medical and emotional needs as a lesson in dealing with the healthcare, insurance, legal, and financial industries. But she wondered how people who lack the same know-how and networking savvy fared in coping with difficult, unanticipated situations. So she started A Dignified Life to lighten the decision-making burdens that accompany life's myriad transitions. A Dignified Life offers both virtual and in-person consultations and serves clients both locally and nationally. The company is based in the New York Metropolitan area and its service area includes New York City and the Hudson Valley (Westchester County, Rockland County, Putnam County, Orange County, and Dutchess County), Connecticut and New Jersey.
