Founded in 1957 and located in Bay Shore, N.Y., ACLD Kramer Learning Center is a social service and welfare organization. The organization serves more than 2,500 children, adults and families suffering from various disabilities. It has a staff of more than 800 professional and trained psychiatrics, physicians, nurses and counselors. The organization provides various services, such as residential support, vocational training and job placement, early childhood education, and medical and mental health services. Additionally, it operates a diagnostic and treatment center that includes various departments, such as general medicine, podiatry, neurology and gynecology. Its staff provides psychiatric evaluation, crisis intervention, neuropyschological rehabilitation, and physical, occupational and speech therapies. ACLD Kramer Learning Center also provides in-home respiter care and individualized educational and child care programs for children up to the age of 12 years suffering from physical disabilities and mental health disorders.
