Jeffrey Abergel, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley. He treats an array of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders but has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's and ulcerative colitis). He performs procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, endoscopic retrograde cholangio pancreatography, and videocapsule endoscopy. After earning his medical degree at the Sackler School of Medicine in Israel, Dr. Abergel completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He then completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine in New Jersey. In 2015, Dr. Abergel was honored by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's charity event, "Take Steps" Walk on Staten Island. His research has been published in both medical journals and textbooks. Additionally, his work has been presented at national meetings of the American College of Gastroenterology.
